The best graphics cards for mining in 2026: profitability ranking

Which graphics card earns the most from mining, which one to pick for your budget and how much the one already in your PC will make. The ranking is based on FlowHash calculator data and is recalculated at the current rate.

How we calculate

In FlowHash, NVIDIA RTX cards mine Pearl (PRL) on the pearlhash algorithm. It loads the tensor cores — the matrix-math units that power AI and DLSS. So what matters most for profitability is the number and generation of tensor cores, not the amount of video memory as in the Ethereum days.

For each card we list the hashrate (TH/s), power draw under load, monthly income and profit after electricity at $0.10 per kWh. The hashrate is a FlowHash estimate for the reference version of the card: factory-overclocked versions are slightly faster, laptop versions slower. All figures are at the rate of October 25, 2026 and are recalculated at the current rate when you open the page.

10RTX 5070136 TH/s250 W$114.75$96.75$0.64

The leader is the RTX 5090 at about $339.18 per month. But it is also the most expensive and the most power-hungry card at 573 W. For most people the balance of income, card price and power draw matters more than maximum income, so below are an efficiency ranking and the best models in each budget.

Most efficient: income per watt

Efficiency shows how much income a card makes for every watt it uses. The higher it is, the less your electricity rate matters. The RTX 40 generation is unmatched here: with moderate power draw it earns as much as the power-hungry flagships of previous years.

#GPUHashratePowerIncome / moProfit at $0.10Pays off up to, $/kWh
1RTX 4080220 TH/s255 W$185.62$167.26$1.01
2RTX 4080 SUPER206 TH/s262 W$173.81$154.94$0.92
3RTX 4070120 TH/s163 W$101.25$89.51$0.86
4RTX 4090316 TH/s441 W$266.62$234.87$0.84
5RTX 4070 Ti SUPER165 TH/s235 W$139.22$122.30$0.82
6RTX 5090402 TH/s573 W$339.18$297.92$0.82

Look at the last column — the rate at which income equals the electricity cost. For the RTX 4080 it is $1.01 per kWh, while for the RTX 3090 it is $0.40: for the same income, RTX 40 spends far less on electricity.

The best GPU in every budget

Entry level: RTX 3060, RTX 4060, RTX 5060

The RTX 3060 12 GB is one of the most popular gaming cards, and it earns about $42.19 per month. The RTX 4060 earns more — about $52.31 — while drawing only 115 W, so it barely shows on the electricity bill. The RTX 5060 makes about $60.75. If one of these is already in your PC, it definitely makes sense to let it work while you are not gaming.

Mid-range: RTX 4060 Ti, RTX 5060 Ti, RTX 4070

The RTX 4070 is the best balance in the whole catalog: about $101.25 per month at just 163 W. The RTX 5060 Ti 8 GB earns about $74.25, the RTX 4060 Ti 8 GB about $65.81. For anyone choosing a card for both gaming and mining, this is the sweet spot.

Upper mid-range: RTX 4070 SUPER, RTX 5070, RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, RTX 5070 Ti

The RTX 4070 SUPER earns about $118.12 per month at 200 W, one of the most efficient cards in the catalog. The RTX 4070 Ti SUPER makes about $139.22, the RTX 5070 Ti about $150.18.

High end: RTX 4080, RTX 4090, RTX 5080, RTX 5090

The RTX 4080 earns about $185.62 per month at only 255 W — the best efficiency among the flagships. The RTX 4090 makes about $266.62, the RTX 5080 about $192.37 and the RTX 5090 about $339.18. Buying a top-end card just for mining means a long payback, but if you need it for gaming or work anyway, mining noticeably lowers its real cost.

Older cards: RTX 20 and RTX 30

Every RTX card since the 20 series has tensor cores, so even cards from 2018–2020 can mine. The RTX 3080 10 GB earns about $90.28 per month, the RTX 3070 about $59.06 and the RTX 2060 about $28.69. The downside of older generations is higher power draw: their electricity break-even point is lower than for RTX 40 and RTX 50, so run the numbers carefully if your electricity is expensive.

Since FlowHash 2.0, AMD Radeon RX 6000, RX 7000 and RX 9000 cards mine Pearl too. They have no tensor cores, so for the money they usually deliver fewer TH/s: the RX 9070 XT does about 100 TH/s, the RX 7900 XTX about 47 and the RX 6700 XT about 14 (estimates from public benchmarks; every card is in the calculator). Older cards mine too: NVIDIA GTX 10xx/16xx (GTX 1050 Ti, 1060, 1660 and so on) and Radeon cards with 3 GB or more — RX 470/480/570/580, RX 5000, Vega; they earn noticeably less, and the app shows the exact figure after picking the best miner. Only GTX 900 and older, 2 GB Radeon cards and Intel Arc are not supported — on such PCs you can mine Monero on the CPU.

Laptops

Laptop RTX GPUs run at a limited power level but are very economical: the RTX 4060 Laptop earns about $50.62 per month at 100 W, the RTX 4070 Laptop about $60.75. The real hashrate depends on the power limit and cooling of the specific laptop. FlowHash pauses mining on overheating and on battery power.

What to look for besides income

How to keep a card in good shape during long sessions is covered in “Does mining damage your GPU?”.

Bottom line

The RTX 5090 and RTX 4090 lead on income. For the balance of income and power draw, pick the RTX 4070, RTX 4070 SUPER or RTX 4080. Any RTX already in your computer is fine to start with: even the RTX 3060 12 GB earns about $42.19 per month. The mining calculator shows what your card will make at your electricity rate.

FAQ

What is the best GPU for mining in 2026?

By income, the RTX 5090 (about $339.18 per month) and the RTX 4090 (about $266.62). By income relative to power draw, the RTX 4080 and RTX 4070: about $185.62 and $101.25 per month at 255 and 163 W.

Is it worth mining on an RTX 3060?

Yes, unless electricity is very expensive: the RTX 3060 12 GB earns about $42.19 per month and covers electricity at rates up to $0.34 per kWh.

Can I mine on AMD or GTX graphics cards?

Yes, since FlowHash 2.0. AMD Radeon RX 6000, RX 7000 and RX 9000 mine Pearl, though for the same price they usually earn less than NVIDIA RTX; older Radeon cards with 3 GB or more (RX 470/480/570/580, RX 5000, Vega) work too. Among GTX cards, the GTX 10xx and 16xx series mine (for example GTX 1050 Ti, 1060, 1660). GTX 900 and older and 2 GB Radeon cards are not supported — on such PCs you can mine Monero on the CPU.

How long does it take for a GPU to pay for itself by mining?

Divide the card’s price by its net monthly profit. For example, a $600 card that makes $100 net per month pays for itself in about six months. Card prices and coin rates change, so recalculate in the calculator.
